| Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the fountain memorializing our Revolutionary War veterans, with a free event on Sunday, July 4, at 1:00 p.m., starting at the front steps of the Town Hall, 41 Center Street.
We will visit Center Congregational Church, location of the 1921 dedication ceremony. The Rev. Joyce O. Crutchfield, Senior Pastor, will welcome us into the historic church at the center, and then Susan Barlow, Town Historian, will lead us on a walk to the fountain in Center Memorial Park. The Orford Parish Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, planned and raised the funds for the drinking fountain. The event will last about 55 minutes, with an optional stroll through the park to see the other memorials. Park behind the Town Hall. Rain or shine, so please bring an umbrella if needed. |
