Abdi Nor Iftin is the author of this year’s Common Read selection, Call Me American. During this event, Abdi will deliver a 1-hour keynote talk, followed by a 30 minute interview with Common Read Coordinator Amy Shaw, and will finish with a 30-minute open Q&A session. MCC students, faculty, staff and the larger community will have the opportunity to hear about his experience growing up during the Somali civil war, living as a refugee in Kenya and, most recently, as an immigrant in the U.S. Sponsored by Common Read, MCC Foundation.
