Saturday, October 1, from 0:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (rain date Sunday, October 15)
The public is invited to visit a unique show at the pavilion at Bush Hill farm, 330 Bush Hill Road, Manchester (park at the cider barn and walk in about a tenth of a mile). Club member Doug MacGillvary says, “Stop by and visit with collectors from all of the New England states, along with New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania — members of the Yankee Pole Cat Insulator Club, founded in 1972, and one of a dozen clubs scattered across the United States. Come and see what insulator-collecting is all about. There will be free insulators to get a collector started and free appraisals for any insulators (and old bottles, railroad items, and telephone-related items) brought to the outing. We love to talk about the history of the telegraph and telephone and how important those colorful glass insulators were.” Visitors could also plan for a walk along the farm trails while there.
