November 4th, 2021: The Manchester Public Library is pleased to host local writer, lecturer, and teacher David Garnes for a workshop on how to write from your life experiences on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at the Whiton Branch Library on 100 North Main Street.
As part of Manchester Public Library’s celebration of National Novel Writing Month, Garnes will help participants who wish to share their interesting life stories through writing figure out how to begin. Subjects covered will include how to select a topic, deciding on the format, and best recalling events and details you know are still residing somewhere in your memory bank waiting to be withdrawn and brought to life. After a presentation of various ways to help you decide how to proceed, participants will engage in and share some brief writing exercises. Helpful handouts and writing supplies will be provided for this program. Garnes’ own books based on his life experiences will also be available for purchase and signing as further inspiration. Join us to learn how to bring out your creative writing self in this informative and fun experience!
No registration is required for this free program. For more information on this event, please call (860) 645-0821 or visit the library website at http://library.townofmanchester.org
