Cider Barn Improvement Project

Volunteers needed at our cider barn, 330 Bush Hill Road, Manchester. We’re looking for your help at our 5,000-s.f. post-and-beam cider barn as we make improvements to it. The barn sits on a 62-acre parcel preserved as open space and public enjoyment! Help needed to repair exterior of barn, which involves securing 1″x3″ strips of wood along the vertical joints of the larger 1″x12″ vertical siding boards. Some volunteers will be located on ladders, others on the ground. We could use extra hands to help secure ground level battens, and to assist workers on ladders, by passing them materials. At present, the cider barn is home to thousands of tag sale items. We hope to reorganize the interior of the barn and create a 40′ x 40′ clear space near the entrance, so that the building can be used for meetings and as a nature center and showcase for our Land Trust properties. Help us move tables and other items to open up this space. We’ll host a small cookout / pizza party toward the end of the event, and hope you can join us. Welcome, volunteers.
