Meet at the Land Trust boulder at the small parking lot on Spring Street near the bridge and waterfall, not far from the intersection of Spring Street and Glen Road, Manchester (GPS 670 Spring St.). We will honor Land Trust founding member and conservationist Dr. Frederick Spaulding for his decades of advocacy for conservation in Manchester, and in particular his enthusiastic work to preserve Case Mountain and Center Memorial Park. The Land Trust owns a few properties in the Case Mountain area, including this half-acre parcel. There will be music by the Manchester Pipe Band and some words about the 51st anniversary of Earth Day. Guests are welcome to explore the trails on their own after this one-hour program. Extreme weather cancels. Please check the street signs carefully before parking to avoid parking tickets. For vintage pictures and a story about the Highland Park section of Manchester, visit Case Brothers National Historic District.
