Seniors Bike Ride

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Mondays 1:00 PM—3:30 PM—Length of ride varies from approximately 15-20 mi on either paved or hard-pack surfaces that are fairly flat or with gentle hills; relaxed pace, stopping for water breaks or things of interest. Bring water to stay hydrated, and please wear a helmet for head protection. Please be aware that rides to distant locations will likely run until 4:00/4:30 PM by the time we are back in Manchester; please plan accordingly. Please contact John Flynn to join a ride via email at jr_f@a􏰁.net. In the event of rain, bikers will be notified by email (please provide him your email) the day before a scheduled ride, and the ride will be rescheduled to the following Monday.

Sept 11—Southwick Rail Trail, Granby to Westfield, MA—91N to Bradley exit #40, follow Rt 20W about 7mi, turn right onto Newgate Rd., toward Old Newgate Prison, left onto Copper Hill Rd., proceed a short distance to parking on the right.

Sept 25—Norwottuck Rail Trail, Northampton, east toward Belchertown, MA—91N into MA and take exit #25, continue straight from the ramp halfway around the traffic circle onto Damon Rd., go one block, turn right into the trailhead parking lot at Elwell State Park.

Oct 9—Farmington River Trail, Farmington to Collinsville—84W, exit #39, follow right Rt. 4W, left onto Main St., right onto Meadow Rd., stay right when Meadow Rd splits to the left onto Read Oak Hill Rd., right onto New Britain Ave., immediate left into the parking area.

Oct 23—Hop River Trail, Bolton at Steele’s Crossing Rd toward Williman􏰀c—Rt. 44E to Rt. 6E, at the Rt. 44/6 split go approximately 2.5 mi to Steele’s Crossing Rd., right on Steele’s Crossing, and access the trail parking lot on the right.
