The Manchester Public Library is pleased to host Richard Dyer for “This is Thanksgiving in Manchester: 87 Years of the Best Turkey Day Road Race in America” on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Whiton Branch Library on 100 North Main Street.
Dyer, a Manchester Road Race Committee member since 1989 and its current archivist, will talk about the rich history of Manchester’s greatest sporting event and what the road race means to the Town that has generously supported it for many years. Dyer also covered the race as a “stringer” for the Hartford Courant sports department from 1971-1980. The talk will be accompanied by a showing of numerous photos of the Manchester Road Race.
